This petition is to block a monument that members of the 'cult' Westboro Baptist Church want to put up in Wyoming. The monument is to celebrate the murder of Matthew Shepherd. If you do not remember who Matthew Shephers is, he was the college student killed in Wyoming because he was gay. He was beaten and tied to a fence and left there to die. This group actually picketed his funeral

Their lawyer was on WBAB this morning and they asked how what kind os signs they would have - answer 'god hates fags' ' gays will rot in hell' - 'thankk god for 9/11'--can you believe it, they think 9/11 was a good thing. I think I am going to be sick. Are they crazy coming to NY with signs like that??

doesn't it seem like things just get worse everyday? it's so depressing to think about. have things changed so terribly- or was i just ignorant of these things growing up? it saddens me that the world is like that and i want to have kids in a place like this. i know there are good things too but these things just bring me down.
