I'm trying to make plans for my bachelorette party.
Thinking about starting at Lucky Cheng's or Lips (any opinions on this would be appreciated too!)
I wanted to go to Culture Club but I see that it has moved and no info as to when it is opening, my second choice was Polly Esther's but I can't find any info on that either, did that close too?
Anyway, I want something fun and I want to dance! (no techno)
TIA

we just took my friend to Lucky chengs and then went to Sin Sin afterwards - lots of hip hop downstairs, the techno is upstairs so you dont have to hear it if you dont want to

Not sure if you care whether it's trendy or not, but Crobar is fun - it's huge too. Also, there's Lotus, or Bed. You might want to do a search on newyork.citysearch.com you can find a bunch of suggestions there as well. have fun!

crobar closed, they renamed it to stereo and that is actually a big house and techno club, they have a small section that is hip hop but the main floor is hardcore house and e-poppers

Re: Please Suggest a dance club in NYC
For my MOH's bachelorette party (in '05), we did a male review and then went to Webster Hall. We had a great time!! The main floor is a mix of disco, top 40, old school rap, 80s, and rock. Basement has reggae and top floor is house and techno. Not sure if they still have it, but they had a VIP pass for $50 which included the admission and open bar all night.

I remember two different Polly Esther's one was uptown somewhere (I think) and the one I was talking about was in The Village (If I remember correctly). It was 70's and 80's and had a light up dance floor. We used to go to it after bar crawls.

its ok, dont even feel bad clubs in the city only last a short period of time and its hard to keep up with them. Theres some clubs i go to and honestly i remember at least 4-5 names it used to be called, or 6 months after im at a club its closed lol.

i agree, unless you go there for the 80's prom thing like someone suggested. Otherwise its a very young crowd bc its one of the few clubs thats actually under 21 well its 19 and over so all the young kids go there which makes the older ppl not want to go and it can get kinda ghetto at times
