FI is concerned it's a lot of sightseeing and very little relaxing time. What do you think? I think we get to do both b/c we're on a cruise ship. I really want to go on this cruise but he's not loving it :( Your comments are totally appreciated.
OPTION #1: 1 Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy 2 Naples/Capri, Italy 3 Florence/Pisa (Livorno), Italy 4 Cannes, France 5 Barcelona, Spain 6 At Sea 7 Gibraltar 8 Casablanca (Marrakech), Morocco 9 Seville (Cadiz), Spain 10 Lisbon, Portugal 11 Vigo (Santiago de Compostela), Spain 12 At Sea 13 Paris/Normandy (Le Havre), France 14 Rotterdam, The Netherlands 15 Brussels/Bruges (Zeebrugge), Belgium 16 London (Southampton), England
With option #1, to make it more relaxing I was thinking of arriving a few days before the cruise takes off and spending a few days in Rome
With option #2, we can fly a few days early and spend time in Venice before the cruise departs and then stay in Barcelona after the cruise.
Which do you like? Reasons why?

I chose option 2 because I DREAM of going to Italy, so that cruise would be ideal for me - more of the great italian cities to see.

I would pick #2 for relaxing.
You need about 3 days in Paris to see it.... so much sightseeing. #1 is a very interesting but VERY busy.

I picked option one, but that is b/c my HM was a cruise that was almost identical to option 2 (instead of those last 3 stops, we did the Ukraine & Romania, and a bunch of other Greek Isles instead of Venice) and option one was sold out.

i would do option #2, but with more days in Italy before the cruise departs to adjust to the time change & to really enjoy the location.
for my HM we're going to Barcelona for a few days prior to our Mediterranean cruise departing (hits Spain, France & mostly Italy). I do think the cruise will be quite active with touring during the day, but you have all night to relax on board. You'll also have any 'at sea' days to just chill out as well- we'll be doing spa stuff on these days. Besides if your FH feels its too busy you don't have to get off & go nuts sightseeing at each port, you can pace yourselves however you like. Compromise & make the trip what you'd both enjoy. HTH!

sorry, neither.... too much at once. I'd prefer to do 1/3 of that over a 2-3 week period of time....

Have you been to Europe before? I've been to a lot of those cities/sites. Option 1 sounds great! The one part of option 2 that I would say no to was Turkey. I travelled there for a few days while in Rhodes, Greece and didn't feel the warmest welcome as an American.

I kind of agree...
I just don't think either of those itineraries are 'relaxing.' I would LOVE to do either for my HM, but if FH is stressing the importance of 'relaxation' I would go another route.
Also, like some other said, avoid turkey....and be super careful in morocco!
