Girls, had no idea about this until I saw several posts regarding it. My FH is a great piano player and would love to get him a piano theme cake. Ok, where do I go for it, when do I present it to him--is it at the wedding along side our wedding cake or do I do it at the rehersal dinner??? Thanks so much.

Re: Please tell me about the grooms cake
My sister made one for my rehersal dinner (that never took place because of the black out), it looked beautiful (a tux) - - but since we had the black-out that day, no one saw it. But it was good. Many bakeries offer theme cakes, or ask if you can bring in a picture of one you seen online and they can make it for you.

It's your choice where to serve it...I think I'm going to surprise him at the wedding, but unsure. I'm still a little unclear as to 'who' gets a piece if I serve it at the reception versus the RD. Try Audrey's Bakery, they are a vendor on here and they are soooo yummy!!! They are located in West Sayville.

Re: Please tell me about the grooms cake
I did not do the 'traditional' grooms cake. He LOVES Mustangs so I was going to get a replica of his car made. Every car cake I saw looked very cartoonish so I decided to have his old Mustang ('83 that he rebuilt himself) put onto a carvel cake.
I presented this to him at the rehearsal dinner (as a surprise) and he LOVED it!!! He was so happy:):)
Yeah!! Thanks girls--you guys just gave me a great idea. I am going to present it to him at the RD. I think everyone will enjoy it more there. Thanks again if it wasn't for you I would have never known about this!!!
