Please tell me I am not crazy...

Please tell me I am not crazy...

and that with 11 days left until the big day it is completely normal to feel totally unsure of myself and all of the choices I have made for this wedding.

FH and I decided to have a small restaurant reception with no dancing, just background music, for many reasons. I am still happy with that choice, but I am getting so nervous...what if it's boring? What if it is not 'nice' enough?

I changed my bok last week, I am doubting my photographer and I just found myself looking at the metropolitan in LIC as if I actually had the time, money etc. to change the venue. I am so worried about my dress... I still have a whole bunch of little things to do placecards and things like that...

I feel like I had very little help in planning this wedding (with the exception of you girls of course!) and I was working soooo much and faced with so many different issues...(FMIL passed away, little sister got pregnant just to name a couple) I feel like I didn't give the early decisions, which are the most important (dress, photographer, venue) the attention or thought they deserved and now my wedding is 11 days away and I am freaking out... I guess I just need some reassurance that everything will be fine...

I guess I just needed to vent a bit and get all of these worries and frustrations off of my chest...you girls and this site have been the best resource and distraction from reality during these past few months...thank you!

Def. not crazy...I am going through the same thing right now. I keep asking myself 'What if my wedding doesnt compare to my other relatives weddings' what if people arent happy, this is not what I want..blah blah..I have to keep reminding myself that IT IS WHAT I WANT...so, its compltely normal to feel that way but remember its going to be BEAUTIFUL!

You are def NOT crazy! I think it's only natural to begin to second guess yourself so close to something so big. And like you said, you've been thru a lot while planning this wedding and now that it's crunch time you're feeling a bit overwhelmed and nervous! I think it's perfectly normal.

As far as being 'boring', I really doubt that. I happened to notice your RSVP count as your avatar and with 62 people there, people are bound to have a good time chatting it up with one another. I'm sure everyone will have fun and be so happy for you guys! And to be honest, it's probably a great change for people. A lot of weddings are big with lots of music and such. Not that that isn't nice, but to be able to appreciate the intimacy of what you guys are doing will be wonderful for you, FH and your guests.

And remember......you picked these vendors for a reason. Something about each of them made your feel confident and attracted to them. TRUST YOUR GUT!!! I'm sure all will work out to be the best day of your lives. I would honestly just chalk what your going thur now up to nerves. Try to relax.......take a night just for yourself.....go get a mani/pedi, or if you can, go to the spa for a massage. BREATHE!!!!!! It will all be beautiful!!!!

Be calm! I felt quite similar to you, actually. I planned my wedding in six months, with no help from anyone, really, other than my FH (now husband) who mostly just told me OK when I asked him something. Right before the wedding I got so freaked that everything would be a disaster I couldn't eat, my stomach totally rebelled, and I ended up taking half tabs of Xanax every eight hours. I also had a small guest list, and I 'lost' seven guests in the last couple of days through illness and car accidents (nothing terrible or lasting, thank heavens.) So what happened?

The best and happiest day of my life.

Yes, I was freaked out even through the morning and getting ready, but once I was waiting to walk down the aisle, it all fell away. I was so happy, I'm still on a high two and a half weeks later.

It will all work out, trust me. You'll have a great time, your guests will have a great time, and you will be married.

Good luck, and congratulations!
