Please tell me I have nothing to worry about!

As some of you know I'm getting married in Ireland... well as of today the best man and his fiance still have not received their passports! They called for the status and the lady told them they are only half way through processing and that their best bet is to wait 5 days before the are scheduled to fly out, go to a main office and request a temporary passport. I'm seriously starting to stress!!!! (meanwhile last week I was posting about how I'm so stress free way to jinx myself!)

Has anyone gotten a temp passport? Can you do that for an international flight? I tried calling the PO that they applied for their passports and the guy wasn't reassuring! I seriously want to cry right now! (did I mention that none of my FH family is coming to the wedding and his bestman is the only one that is representing his side )

I wish i had some words of wisdon or experience with this but I don't...Try not to stress..Hopefully it will all work out.

This happened to my cousin a few weeks ago. She had to go to the passport office and they had to give her an emergency passport. She was really stressed out at first but it all worked out in the end.

My FH got one for a trip the day before we left this year due to the long wait for passports. He went to the passport agency in the city... I believe if you already have a passport application in the system you do not even need an app't. I am not 100% positive on that because when you call they tell you that you need an app't but FH said he didn'y even need one...

They should be prepared to wait a long time... Maybe all day, but they should most likely leave with their passports that day or come back for it the next day... They need their documentation ie. birth certificate and what not... I am not sure what else they need... I forget but check out this website

STOP THAT!!!!!! Don not worry till it's the day before and they still don't have them. Crying over something that can still be fixed is a waste of energy. Save those tears for when FH is saying his vows to you!!!!!

I'm trying not too, but I leave for Ireland this Sunday, so I wont even know what's going on! I'll just have to wait and see if they show up or not!

I'm not sure how it works in the Philly office but my guess is that if FH got in the same day in NY then Philly is most likely a smaller office. Please do not stress. This will all work out!!!

another thing to add to the headache.. they sent their original birth certificates in with their applications and they don't have copies! will they take another form of ID? Or do they have to go rush and get another copy of the birth certificates?

They know they have their B/C's, I'm sure SS card or license will be fine. Call the Philly office and they will elt you know what they will need.

I am not 100% positive but if I am remembering correctly they already had that info in the computer and it was not needed...
