Please tell me: is this standard for a LIMO CONTRACT?

Please tell me: is this standard for a LIMO CONTRACT?

Hi there-
I'm looking at this contract I got from NJL limo, deciding whether to proceed with them. Their contract has some teeth.

It says:
'Any cancellation made after 30 days of signing this contract forfeits a refund and contract is due in FULL AMOUNT.'

so meaning, you don't just lose your deposit, they also expect you to ante up the rest of the amount. That seems crazy to me!!

**Please tell me if this is normal policy for limos.**

I've never seen this for any other vendor. Usually, if you cancel you just lose your deposit.

They also have some small print at the bottom saying that if they incur expenses trying to get you to fork over the rest of the dough that you're responsible for paying those expenses as well!!

IS this on your contract from other limo companies?

Thanks for your help

I've seen it with a few vendors...so I do believe it's standard.

I think ours says the same thing. I think it's standard for limos.

I just checked ours and it only states the deposit is non-refundable.

As a lawyer, I would change that wording in my contract. I would never agree to that. I can understand non-refundable deposit but full amount? No way. And if the cancellation is within 30 days, I still think you should be able to get a portion of the deposit back. If it's in Suffolk County, the law will override the contract anyway.

Yes, luckily I haven't signed anything yet or put down any deposit.
So I'm still 'in the driver's seat' for the negotiation, so to speak. Bad pun fully intended!!

Yeah, I'm going to say that I'll only sign if they cross out those clauses and initial it.

Thanks again!
