Please tell me it's a phase...

Please tell me it's a phase...

My wonderful sweet baby boy... WON'T STOP HITTING US! He really is a good kid. But the last couple of weeks he's been extremely whiny, and keeps swatting at me. He hates to be told no. He wants to do what he wants to do when he wants to do it. Usually when we tell him no he would listen, but lately he's testing us to the extreme. Is there anything we can do at this age besides telling him no hit, that's not nice, etc.? He's too young yet for a time out, right?

Id completly ignore the behavior. The attention hes getting is what he wants. I tried everything with Emma from baby time outs to talking it out. Ignoring worked the best. Just be warned it may get worse before it gets better as he tries for more attention.

we give Sofia time outs...(she'll be 2 next month)..
she's also gotten into the habit of hitting...(esp. Danielle) and she does test us by taking swats...we give her a 2 min time out, and it works! Once her T/O is complete, she gets up and either hugs Danielle and says sorry, or comes to us and does the same. (whichever she was punished for)

eta: we also tell her no hit, and be nice while she's on time out...she KNOWS she's done something wrong.
