Please tell me what you think

As some of you may know, I had a major issue with my invitations. I have had to make this somewhat of a DIY project. The first picture is the original invitation. The second picture is my version. Please note, this is an extremely rough draft of my invite. Please give me feedback/suggestions.

I think that's awesome! I love the DIY projects, it just brings so much meaning to it! I love those!!!! Great Job!

Maybe it's just me, but I really don't like the flower.. it looks too busy. JMO

keep going for it... i'm not a fan of the flower either - sort of reminds me of a prom or something.... but i think otherwise they're great! and you should definitely continue! :)

do either of you have any suggestions as to what I can use instead? I need to attach the two sides in some way. Otherwise they pop open and everything inside falls out. thanks for you honest opinions.

What is the ribbon you have made of? It looks kind of sheer, but if it were my invites, I would probably just use the ribbon and close it with a tiny peice of velcro.

i was going for that at first. The woman helping me at AC Moore said the velco is really strong and any ribbon i choose, except for industrial strength is going to get ripped immediately from the velcro. Plus i really love that ribbon that i picked, it looks so nice in person! Thanks for the suggestion though!

Could you put a slit in one side of the invite and feed the ribbon through? does that make sense? so you don't really need to adhere it, but rather thread the ribbon through?

Or what about maybe a little silver heart charm or something small and simple?

you have to think about weight too i think for shipping...

so are you saying to make the ribbon just slide through the front of the invite? Oh and the invite is only 6x6 so its not as huge as it looks in the pic. And the flower weighs so little...i bet a silver charm would weigh more than this flower. I did consider the weight. Dont need to be spending $2.00 to mail these things! Thanks for the suggestions.
