Does anyone have any dress suggestions for a plus size bridesmaid. She is also pretty short. What would be most flattering?

Re: Plus Size BM
I had one plus size BM as well, and I went with an A line dress that was fitted but not cling-y, ( pictures in my album)
I would stay away from thin satin , anything too tight, mermaid styles . Most important for plus sized dresses( all dresses really) is that the dress is altered correctly .
I would also take this BM shopping with me for idea's

Re: Plus Size BM
I am a plus sized girl and A line looked best. My best friend also picked a dress with a shawl so that I had something to wrap around my arms. It made me feel so much better and more comfortable in pictures. My dress also had a sash in the middle of the dress that made my tummy bulge slim down. I got a great pair of Spanx too at Lane Bryant which helped a lot. Hope this is helpful!

Yes that was very descriptive. It's my sister and I want to be as sensitive and accomodating as possible!

Was your plus side BM able to try on dresses when you went looking?

Not really . I got my dresses at bridal reflections, and the sample size was a 14 ( street 12) and my BM put it on , but said there was no way it would zip , she kinda held it up , just to get an idea. she was able to see the cut of the dress, and she said she liked it .
If you really want the plus size BM's to try on dresses, I know Davids bridal has plus cuts there , not sure about other bridal stores

I kinda was hoping to steer clear of David's. Thinking I may need to venture there.

bridal suite of bayshore had bigger size dresses in sizes 14-20
My girls had bill levkoff 966 and the halter version and they looked great. most of my girls were 14+
I feel like those dresses that DCLM726 posted are really nice. It's a perfect style for a plus size bridesmaid. I remember when I used to be very overweight and my cousin had asked me to be in the bridal party of her wedding. As soon as i saw the dresses that she was considering, I respectfully declined (I was only 15 years old then, so I just kinda made it like I'm shy & would be uncomfortable walking down the aisle and all that. She understood). But the real reason was the dress. It was one of those 2 pieces. An A-line skirt and tight fitting top. I always hated those! Would make my gut look & feel ten times larger. Ugh. There was no way i'd be comfortable with all eyes on me wearing THAT! At my bestfriends wedding just recently, she had a lot of plus sized BMs also, ranging from size16-22. She used a 2 piece as well, but her skirt had a flare to it. Like it kind of puffed out ever so slightly (rather than just going straight down the legs). This hides the rather large gut most girls feel that they have and i could tell that her plus size BMs felt gorgeous in it!!!
so that's my suggestion. One piece dresses are the best for plus size BMs. But if you need a 2 piece, at least make sure that it has a flare to it. Not something too form fitting. You want them to be as comfortable as possible, and the only way to achieve that is for them to feel GORGEOUS! (and she should!)
