Re: Plus Size Bride Help!
Lilette's was AMAZING. They had a lot of sample dresses around a size 20. Lydia was incredibly helpful and made me feel beautiful every step of the way. I found that the A-lines with ruching really looked the best - held me in in the tummy/hip area. Don't go with a ballgown - it looks like a Mack truck is lurking under there! TRY LILETTE'S!

Usually ballgown A-Line dresses work well.

Check out something with cap sleeves or a halter top. I find those very flattering!I've also heard great things about Estelles!

Something with rouching around the waist area. I have the same apple shape - don't feel discouraged, once you start trying dresses on you will get a feel for what looks good on your body shape and you will know whats right...

Iam Miss Frumpy Apple, now I have lost wieght it is all in my mid section and staying.I would def looked into A-line and ballgown. Also what is great about a wedding dress is most of them start flaring out around the upper waist drawing your eyes to the top of the dress and not to your Frumpy Apple shape.
It took me 11 bridal shops and 3 mths to find my dress and I went with modified A-line with rouching.
Def look at dresses with rouching.

Something with a corset is also happy because it can suck you in!!! I got a great pair of spanx shorts at Lane Bryant too.

I'm not sure how much weight you have to/want to lose but I would say you have lots of time to do it if you really put your mind to it. I lost 45 lbs doing Jenny Craig and am so much happier now (not to mention healthier). I would also highly recommend RK Bridal in Manhattan because they have a ton of dresses for larger sizes and the ladies there know what will look good on you. For me, an A line works great. Depending on your particular shape, they can help you find what works...and even better, the prices are awesome. Lots of dresses under $1000. Good luck
