My mom is a nightmare, she doesnt like anything that is appropriate for a MOB, everything she picks is SO plain, and my FMIL is going to be more dressed up!
I'm the only girl, and I want her to be comfortable is what shes wearing, but I want her to look good also.....if your mom is plus size where did you go shopping for her dress???
I've already tried: Davids Bridal Macys Estelles Totally You
Who knew she'd be the hardest one to dress! She'll only buy something that she can try a sample on and so few places have samples in larger sizes! =(

My Mom was hard to size & also very difficult. We finally ordered a dress online..and worked well.

We got her dress at Bridal Reflections Massapequa...where I bought mine. They were very helpful and did a good job on her alterations (she is a lot bigger on the bottom than on top)

Bridal Reflections in Carle Place is where we found my moms gown, but I think you can go anywhere and get a gown and have it ordered for your mom in her size. My mom was able to actually try on the gowns as well because they had it in her size.

i would check any of the smaller dress shops. They can order dresses in all sizes. Plus they tend to be fancy compared to just going to a major department store. We used Paradise Bridal in Patchogue. I know some people have mixed feelings about them but they were great.

Try queen of hearts in merrick. My mom is the same way and she found a beautiful dress there for my wedding and my sisters.

My mom bought her dress in NJ- but it was by Jasmine and it was gorgeous- I'll put a picture of it in my wedding album- try the Jasmine website for locations that they sell the dress at

My mom and my aunt got their MOB dresses at My Daughter's Wedding in Great Neck. They have tons of dresses and can work MAGIC with their alterations!

i def reccomend Sugar plum!! My mom was plus size too. But she lost alot of weight. The dress she bought had to be brought down 3 sizes and they helped us keep the orignal dress she bought and worked with us while taking it in. They were very nice to us.

Also try the department stores or Dress Barn.

my mom got her dress for both my wedding and my brothers wedding at Queen Of Hearts in Merrick.
She LOVES the women who work there (were the same from when my brother got married 3 years ago)...she RAVES about the place!
