Plus sized bridesmaid dress samples

Does anyone know of Long Island (or Queens) bridal stores that have plus sized bridesmaid dress samples, other than Davids Bridals?

I'm a plus size bride and I checked out Davids Bridal which was a horrible experience. When I went to try and get a feel on what gowns would look right with my body...everything seemed so ...flumpy. And IMO I felt their plus size gowns had no....style to them to emphasize positive assets on plus size women.

I left there feeling really down....instead I went and started looking online to get an idea as to what gowns I liked. After my Davids Bridal experience, I knew what gowns would not look right on me and I crossed those off my list.

Eventually I found a gown that I truly loved but wasn't sure how it would look. So I began calling bridal salons to inquire on this specific gown. I had to have called @ least 40 salons till I ran across RK Bridal in Manhattan. They had the gown I was interested in and in the sample size I needed. I tried it on and knew it was the one....I think there's a belief that you have try on 1000's of dresses and go to tons of bridal salons to play dress up to find the perfect gown but if you search online and find some gowns that catch your eye, i would go in that direction(less stress). Go and search for bridal salons that will have the sample size in your size. I did however try on other gowns while @ RK bridal to get an idea if anything else caught my eye but none did, so this route worked for and may work for you.

RK bridal in the city had a ton of plus size gowns...I know you were interested in searching on Long Island but check them out.

I didn't order my gown from them because I didn't want to have to keep going back and forth from LI to Manhattan. i ended up ordering my gown from Bridal Elegance in Huntington.

I second Estelle's...not a huge selection but plus size gowns

David's Bridal will be pretty much the only place for plus-sized gals to try on samples. The plus-size gowns are the exact same gowns as the regular sized ones and cut in the same way. I wore a DB bridesmaid dress once and was perfectly comfortable in it, and we used DB dresses in my wedding. The shop experience is not great, but the finished product was great. Our girls, plus and regular sized, looked wonderful.

I tried on about 12-15 plus size dresses at Lillettes. and I tried on over 20 at Davids Bridal!
