I'm leaving this weekend and I'm starting to panic about packing my wedding dress and wedding items (veil, underskirt, jacket etc).
I know that I MUST take it on board with me because I cannot risk it getting lost if it were in my luggage. So.... how am i suppose to pack this stuff? My mom suggested space bags, but I'm very worried that it will ruin my dress by flattening it too much?? Is that even possible? I'm just very worried and not sure what to do.
Anyone out there traveling with your wedding dress? What did you guys do? Thanks so much in advance for all of your help.

You should try calling the airline and arranging for it to be hung up. Then you can just bring it in the dress bag and when you get on the plane they will hang it up for you.
I just got back from my honeymoon and saw a couple of girls do this on the place.

You can contact your airline to see if you can hang it in the captains closet on the plane or if not have one of the overhead compartments clear for you to lay your gown flat. I had 2 friends who had this done and it was never a problem. They stored it in the dress bag with another plastic garment bag over just in case of spills. Hope this helps!

i was wondering that too but at this point i'm not sure if we are driving or flying i would def bring it on board i wouldn't use space bags though.... just the garment bag and have it all steamed a day or so before to make sure the wrinkles are out

I too will be traveling with dress. I am going to call Southwest before the trip to see what the recommend, but I recall they will either hang it up front for you, or stow it away near the front somewhere. Dont worry... you will be fine. just dont CHECK IT.

thank you!! I called the airline and they said that when I check in that I need to let them know and it wont be a problem for them to put it on board with me! Im very happy about it! thanks again!

My bro just got married in Jamaica my SIL just took the dress on board in the bag it came in and they hung it in a closet. call the airline in advance they should have a closet and will store in on board for you HTH
