trying to do my mock up.. can't figure out what i'm gonna use to seal the pocketfolds yet... how did everyone get the ribbon to stay.. and keep it closed? also ... if u used an adhesive like a double sided tape type thing.. does it make it hard for the person who receives the invite to open it?? maybe this sounds stupid.. but i just tried it one way and it was giving me problems and i think i'm just frustrated and lacking the ability to think straight..lol TIA ladies!!!

pocketfolds aren't meant to be glued shut, your guests would have to ruin the folder to open them.

i know.. just not sure what to use to make the ribbon around it stay... do i tie it? the ribbon is thick so i figured if i did that it would bulge out of the envelope... i wanted to use rhinestone buckles.. not sure if it's in the budget as of now though.. looking into it.

I found this video on YouTube some time ago - if you fast forward to the end you can get an idea of how she does it with the ribbon (she glues it). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I02lGEwPh3E You can also use removable double sided tape - I tried this on my mockups and it stayed shut and I was able to open it without ripping - then again I have the stardream pockets which may be sturdier. I put a small strip just over the tip of the flap then stuck a 2x2 square of cardstock with my monogram over it. Another option I've seen done is the small foam squares so your monogram is 3 dimensional, so to speak.

I used Rhinestone buckles on mine and just secured my ribbon that way. If you find you need a good price on the Rhinestone buckles FM me I ordered mine from China even with overnight shipping they came out to be like .59 a pc. Also i didn't even pay for them until they arrives safely then I went and did a wire transfer for them.

I used Glue dots to adhere the ribbons ends to themselves and then they just slipped on and off the pocketfold

what about just making the ribbon tight enough around the envelope so that it doesnt slide off?

you can use any type of double sided tape. your smart guests will slide the ribbon off the pocketfold....everyone else will cut it.

I ordered pocketfolds and on the sample it is not sealed shut. It is just folded and then there is that square label with our names on it. It seems to stay closed pretty well.

I wish I had a photo to show you The tab just said 'Mr. and Ms. Smith' or 'Mr and Ms. Smith Charlie and Lucy,' Whoever was invited.. They are not 'closed' but I actually like that better... I will try to FM you a photo tonight. I stayed away from ribbons cause I made my invited more contemporary. hope that helps a little.
