Pocket Invitation Postage Price

I posted on BHB, but I figured you ladies are a little more in touch with the cost of postage since you recently sent out your invites....

My mom just went to the post office with my sample pocket invitation and the lady behind the counter said that since the envelope was not bendable, it would be charged a parcel package rate and not a first class envelope rate... so it comes out to about $1.77 for 2.4 ounces...

has anyone else heard this about mailing their pocket invites in normal 5X7 envelopes??

Just want to make sure I'm not over paying before I mail them out next month.

I have pocket invitations which are pretty thick and non bendable, i went to Lynbrook post office to have them hand cancelled and they were much less than that! Try them!

(im not sure the exact price bc my fh did the paying but i wouldnt allow him to pay unless it was under 1.50) HTH

i would go to another post office.

mine were $1.08.. i put 3 $0.44 stamps on mine to be on the safe side.
