Re: pocketbook for the day of.....

I found mine at my most hated store - MACYS Herald Square.

Its fully beaded, the perfect shade of ivory and $50. I wasnt even going to ask because it was behind glass so I figured it must be too expensive.

Pretty terrible photo (its not gold) but you get the idea.

Re: pocketbook for the day of.....

Hmmm, was thinking of this and wondered when I would be able to hold a purse on the day of the wedding or what I would need in it beside maybe some makeup....what are your thoughts in why you need a purse...just curious.

Re: pocketbook for the day of.....

I don't think I am but I LOVE the one that looks like a present, it is small and a little square, have you seen that? I will look for a pic to post. I wasn't sure who would hold it for me while I was getting married, etc...do you know what I mean? I saw some cute ones this weekend at Craft Shoes in Commack.

Re: pocketbook for the day of.....

Hi Ladies! Just thought I'd let you know that I had a pocketbook at my wedding, and I didn't need it and never used it!! The only reason it was worth it was to 'complete' the look. And, of course it looked very pretty in pics next to my pearls and boquet. All my stuff was in the bridal suite, so I never had to put lipstick, etc in it. I thought it was unecessary to spend too much $$ on something that I won't use again since mine was very 'bridal looking'. I actually lent it to my FSIL for her wedding.

Re: pocketbook for the day of.....

I agree about not needing a purse on the wedding day. People don't want you doing or carrying anything other than your flowers. My MIL lent me the purse she and my SIL carried on their wedding day. My mom bought me a white shopping bag from Party City and decorated it with ribbons and tulle. In the shopping bag I put all my makeup, hair stuff, pantyhose, etc including my MIL's purse (so I wouldn't lose it) and brought it to the bridal suite.

Re: pocketbook for the day of.....

I totally agree that a pocketbook for the day of the wedding is completely unnecessary. I fully believe that carrying makeup/lipstick is why you have a MOH and BM's. I did not worry about my makeup all day b/c my MOH was constantly touching up for me in between dances, etc.

I had my bridal emergency kit and my makeup bag in the bridal suite - I think I only used it once, to get rewetting drops for my contacts. Don't waste your money on a bag that you don't need. Save it for your honeymoon and buy a keepsake to remember your trip!

Re: pocketbook for the day of.....

I bought one at a wholesale place in the city. $20! I was debating even having one for the wedding day but a good friend of mine used a small one for lipstick and a black and white disposable camera. She said she got great shots with people when the photographer was not around. So I guess I will try and use it
