Pocketfold Invitation Girls: I have a ?

Ladies,
Did you/will you use a ribbon or a sticker to close the invitation? I love the way it looked with the ribbon but I am worried the invitation will get damaged once it is mailed since it makes it kinda bulky. I know I can have the invitation hand cancelled, but I have heard so many stories of the Post Office sticking them through the machine anyway, that I am worried. What are you guys doing?

i dunno about the post office, i am going back to the one that put my std's through the machine when i asked the not to, cause i talked to the post master about it later when i found out they all got ruined from the machine.. so i am going to make sure they go through him.. these f'ers better not get messed up they took sooooooo much freaken time and money!! i think mine are too thick for the machine anyway! 2.4 oz!

anyway i did a seal but i put adhesive on 3/4 of the right side of the top and bottom and along the whole right side so the flap can slide under the seal instead of adhering the seal to both parts and then it needing to be ripped apart (or you could use removeable adhesive... ) anyway pics of mine are HERE Our invites , you will see what i mean with how i did the seal...

DId anyone mail it out with the satin ribbon and only one outer envelope and have it make it through the mailing process undamaged?

I did this. From what I have heard from people who received the invite, the invitations came unharmed.

I did not do pocketfolds, I did petal envelopes with a liner and belly band.

I brought them to the post office to be hand canceled and I asked the postal worker, 'does it really make a difference if I have them hand canceled'? Because I heard the same kinds of things you did. She told me yes, it does make a difference. My invites are all out and so far, of the people I asked everything was all gravy when they opened them.

hope that helps

I haven't done mine yet, but my plan is to glue a ribbon on like a band and then use a sticker to hold the invite shut.

I used both a ribbon and a label to close ours, and they were mailed in perfect condition.

I used a ribbon with a cute little bow. I had them hand cancelled and they all went through perfectly (I mailed one to myself to be sure! )
