Has anyone been there? The resort i was going to book is booked on our wedding weekend so back to square one

I went there a verrrrrry long time ago as a kid....I remember it being a real sh*t hole but I heard that they did alot of renovations and it looks completely different now..

I think it is actually supposed to be pretty nice and fun now.. Dont listen to me I went ageeeees ago! its just how i remember it. Here are some reviews from Trip Advisor
MY FIL's went last summer with their grandkids and had a great time!

I wanted Fernwood but the room we wanted the 1 bedroom villa is completely booked and the studio is kind of small and the 2 bedroom is too big.

you know why its probably already booked... every October around ur wedding weekend the Pocnos and Shawnee Mountain hosts a balloon fest.... its a big thing and hotels/ resorts get booked sometimes a year in advance....
Try some of the Ceasars Resorts... only been there for golf w/ FH but they all seem nice.... Also there is the Shawnee Inn which is not affilated with balloon fest anymore so maybe there might be something.... HTH

i went to pocmont last summer, it was awful. they made it look so nice on the website and it was disgusting. our room smelled funny, my brother's room smelled funny, the food was disgusting. my mom had this brilliant idea for everyone to go, etc. FH wanted to propose there (it didn't happen because he told me he didn't want to remember how horrible the place was and even showed me the ring) because the website made it look so nice. when we got there the lake that they claimed was so wonderful looked like lake springfield in the beginning of the simpsons movie - it was about the size of a backyard pool and black. i wouldn't wish anyone to go there, especially for the weekend of your wedding.
i would suggest mount airy - we went there a few weeks ago and the room was really nice.

DH and I just got back from Paradise Stream one of the Caesar's Pocono Resorts. They actually just printed a discount in the clipper magazine this week for up to 50% off. I can send it to you later when i get home if you want.

Thank you but i booked at Fernwood i chose a different day instead and the room i wanted was available.
