Re: Poconos
I love it there!!! I wonder if they still have that 7 ft Tall Champagne Glass Whirlpool Bath. It looked soo cool (exclusively for newly weds). I used to say that I would definitely need to make a stop there on my honeymoon. That was a long time ago... at least 8 years. I wonder if it's still there.

Re: Poconos
I don't live far from the Poconos, about an hour. I've been there several times, I found there aren't that many nice places to dine or anything and watch out there is actually some crime there now. Our friends parents live up there.
It's so beautiful though. Have you thought about Vermont?

Re: Poconos
Dh and I have gone often, he has a house there.
Sycamore grill is a great place to eat, food is delicious. I also have to get the name of this other restaurant where the food was FANTASTIC!!!! they had changed the name and now i cant remember the new name, but its more of a fancy type restaurant
we usually stay at his house there but we have also stayed at the skytop 3x and LOOOVED IT!!!! the place is over 5000 acres. IT has its own lake, theres skiing, theres a lodge, inn and also cabins which are nice and big. THeres a shuttle to take you from one place to another, such as if you stay at the inn and want to go to the lodge for dinner or whatever the case might be. They have activities such as ice skating, snow shoeing, sledding, golf course on the property, kayaking, canoeing, paintball, tennis and much more activities. Theres also a great spa there if you want to do that. The food is delicious too and its such a great getaway. They have different themes sometimes, in the winter they have a x-mas thing with gingerbread house theme, in the summer and spring they also do different themes so you can check which week you'd go and what will be going on at skytop
I know the poconos very well .. been going there forever with the family and my mom and dad now have a house in marshalls creek, which is near shawnee. That area is nice but there isn't a ton to do.
Skytop is friggin amazing - I went to a wedding there and my sister stayed there once.
if you have any specific areas about resorts, towns, etc, let me know!

Re: Poconos
That's where we stayed, the Marshalls Creek ... There wasn't much to do and the one restaurant we found, Alaska Pete's wasn't very good. It's beautiful up there though... I still love Vermont though I hear Killington is dead now.
