Polite way of telling a vendor that dont need their services
I am interviewing different vendors and I just want to know once you decided on a vendor how you told the other ones you were not interested. All the vendors are super nice so I feel bad telling them I found someone else but obviously I cant have 3 photographers at my wedding lol

When we told the hall we would not be going with them, I basically said we decided to go on in a different direction. I didn't tell any of the photographers we saw that we were not going to use them. I didn't even think about it.

I didn't tell any of the other vendors and none of them asked. I think they all know its a business. Had any of them contacted meer I would have politely told them we went in a different direction.

I just never contacted them ever again haha. I felt a little bad because the majority of sales people at the venues I saw were soooo amazing. I did end up booking my video and canceling a meeting with another company. I just said oh sorry we booked someone else. It's business I'm not going to hurt their feelings.

I'm getting annoyed with vendors all together. We specifically told our reception hall we want a band only, not a DJ and for some reason DJ's got my contact info. I got like 8 calls from DJ's already, a call from a jewelry company out in Manorville or something (I live in Long Beach), and 3 different florists. They are sooooo pushy. I'm only engaged a month. I will reach out to the vendors I need when I'm ready. I know that's their jobs and they want to sell their services...but it's all a bit much right now.

I couldn't agree with you more. I honestly don't even answer my phone if I don't know the number anymore. It's driving me nuts.
In reference to the vendors we met with, I did not contact them again if I didn't want to book with them. A few of them called me, and I just told them that I went with someone else, but thanks for taking the time to meet with me.

I guess I will just go with who I want and not say anything else to the other vendors. I'm so turned off by pushy vendors.

I agree I had the same problem! But I will tell you that it probably isn't your reception hall handing out your number, it's LIW. I have gotten so many phone calls from vendors, and it just turns me off so much that even if I liked their company in the first place I wouldn't go with them because they made that pushy sales call.

I always feel bad telling people no, so I just have avoided the phone calls. I feel terrible.

I have a fake number and email on here though... I am not sure how they are getting my info. It is rather annoying... especially the jewelry company b/c if they have my info then they know I live in LB, why in the world would I travel all the way to Manorville to get my wedding bands? Dumb.

It's nice that you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings :). Most people don't care or think about it. I also just told vendors that I actually liked that we loved them but decided to go with someone else, but would definitely be recommending them. They are used to it; it's the nature of the business. They win some and lose some.

I sent them an email... easy and direct. I did call one... only because I really liked the lady (made a connection), she knew how badly I wanted my RH so she totally understood my choice.
