'Politics' of Daycare.... Stories to share?

'Politics' of Daycare.... Stories to share?

UGH, SOME MOMS can be SOO annoying and we have to just smile and act like their child is the most important one in the whole room

This is not even daycare, it's a fun room for the kids to play in while the parents work out at the gym.

I understand the first-time moms being nervous the first few times and asking a million questions... but this was NOT a 1st time mom, and I was sick of her after the first day...
She came in with a 6m old girl... She was already told the way things work (we dont change diapers, we page her if theres poops or if the baby cries alot for her..) She tells me 'oh you can hold her as much as you want' (Hello, Im tipping over from my big belly, AND there were about 25 kids in the room from infant to 4yrs, AND I was by myself working that day.... uhhmmm NO, I wont be holding your child 'as long as I want'... but thanks for offering! I kindly told her that Im not doing too much heavy lifting and that since we had about 4 other infants in strollers, we cant hold them all at the same time... AGAIN this is not daycare AND I am not your nanny...
Well to make a long story short, she spoke about ten minutes on where the baby's bottle is, she LOVES to be held (Again) and she spotted an Elmo doll we had. So she goes ' Oh, ELMO??? SHe LOVESS ELMO, can she hold that doll, if you put it near her, maybe it will distract her from me leaving the room' So I put the doll by the baby, and it was about AS big as the baby so it kind of leaned onto her... well the 2 hours went by. She cried a little. I rocked her stroller, held her for a few minutes, tried the bottle, she didnt want it, and I walked the stroller around some more... she was fine. Cute and happy little girl.. She kept playing with her socks, taking them off, sucking on them. So I put them on the top of the stroller/drink tray.

Well mom comes back with 20 questions!
How was she? OMG Where are her socks??? (They disappeared into thin air mom!) I showed her where they were.
OMG theyre wet, how come????
'Well she had them in her mouth' (Hello genius dont you know what infants do?? and this is your own daughter!
Oh, ELMO, THATS WHAT was that big red thing on her face that I saw the whole time! (She obviously was watching our cameras/monitors in the front instead of working out...) and NO it wasnt on her the whole time!
Did she have it in her mouth??? 'Uhmm, no of course not, I made sure it didnt go in her mouth' (With 25 kids in the room, and SHE REQUESTED the Elmo doll, what more does she want?)
So her daughter was crying a little cry when she heard her moms voice, and she goes ' OMG was she left like that to cry the whole time????????' I wanted to kill her by now.... So I politely ended the conversation of stupid questions.
Maybe i'll tell her to hire a private nanny at home from now on.. and not leave her daughter with us any more...

THEN the next day, she had the NERVE to tell my boss that I put the Elmo doll by her daughter and that it was filthy and dusty (its not filthy or dusty AT ALL) and my boss knew the story, and goes 'Well, I was told that you REQUESTED the Elmo doll to calm your daughter when you left' and she automatically sang a different tune, and changed the subject.......

Can you imagine?????????
Wait till I see her again How rude!
I cant beleive she went and complained about the doll that she spotted on the shelf and requested!! Annoying moms!

Im sure the true daycare centers have even better stories!! My MIL works at a daycare and she has moms that peek in the room ALL DAY and tell them what they should be doing with each kid... UGHHHHHHH Stay home if you cant handle it

Anyone else have good daycare/preschool stories? Stacey? Noreen?

Anna, can you tell this lady that watching the baby monitors while exercising makes for a less than effective exercise, b/c she doesn't concentrate on the task!!! Ok, just kidding, but I thought the lady was crazy

Alina, she cant even watch the monitors WHILE she exercises because they are at the front desk, FAR from the machines and cardio... so she wasnt even working out!

so it was her first day, but has she tried coming back and continuing watching?

If its a first day, I can maybe understand watching the monitors, but I probably wouldn't come and accuse you of doing wrong, when I am the one who asked to do it (with regard to elmo situation)

You got a cutie there yourself

I'll give you one recent story(well it was from this summer remember I am still on maternity leave )

The building that we lease from is an old Catholic school that is no longer open. The priest in charge decides to redo the gym floors(without our knowledge) So my girls start smelling this horrible smell and I now I am at the bank while this is going on. I come in to all the doors wide open and the worst smell ever (mind you I am 8 mons preggo at this time) I start freaking out on the floor guys(who spoke no english) I get the head of matinence down to get them to stop. By now they have already applied 1 coat. I call the Dept. of Health who tells me that I along with all the children should evacuate the building immeadiately. So I call all my parents to come and pick up their children who are now outside sitting in 90degree humid weather. All the parents are pretty miffed but understanding and they all come for their children with the exception of 1. Fast forward to the next day and this child( who has severe asmatha) ends up in the hospital for about 5 days and she blames us Now I told her on the phone that it was dangerous for him with his asmatha, but she was like I can't leave my job. HELLO this is your child!!!!!

Another time I called her because of the way he was breathing and she said she was moving she couldn't come. I told the child's teacher to tell her to get her damn a$$ down here now because the child probably needs to be hospitalized. Of course she tells his teacher (when I wasn't there) that there is no way she is taking him to the Dr. Well guess what he ends up in the hospital for a week And she blames us because she said we had him in front of the air conditioner

She has since been asked to leave the center while I have been out for lack of payment
