We are going to provide transportation for our guests from the hotel to our wedding, but don't know if we should get a shuttle or a bus??
The hotel has a 12 person shuttle that we can use. Its $400 for the night, and is ours the whole night. It will make as many trips as necessary. And it can be called upon if a guest needs to leave in between the scheduled times.
Or we can start pricing out a bus .... anyone know how much that would run?
I don't know how to figure this out, only 1 of our guests has reserved a room at the hotel yet, but I think lots of people 'plan to'
HELP!!
ETA: Not worried so much about price .... just want to make sure we're making the right choice .....

I would say shuttle- I have a feeling a bus would be way more. It might be worth pricing out though....

Re: POLL: A Shuttle or A Bus?!?!
We used a 55 seater coach bus we actually needed two of them. I booked with Alert Transport. Give classic coach a call too they have a good reputation as well. Classic was booked on my date I don't have their number but I do have the Alert number it is 631-471-4600 The cost of a coach bus was a lot less than a party bus. We had the two buses for 10 hours (from hotel to the church, from the church back to the hotel then from the hotel to CLM and from CLM back to the hotel) They arrived early and provided perfect service.

I just re read it, how early in advance do you need to book the shuttle? If you can wait until the wedding is closer I would, it may not be worth it to book the shuttle if only 1 person will use it. But I would do shuttle before bus

That's a good suggestion -- I will call the hotel and see how long I can postpone my decision.
I would rather spend the extra money though to make sure all my guests have transportation in a timely fashion, so they're not late for the ceremony!

See, that doesn't seem crazy to me at all ... especially after my mom suggested having 2 shuttles!
2 shuttles @ $400 each would only transport 24 people!

def the shuttle - the bus would be more expensive... probably a lot more expensive.
the bus would prob run you about $1000.

I think the number of people you have staying at the hotel is a big factor. If it's way more than 12 people, I would look into the bus. FH just booked our transportation, and we found it was a LOT more than we thought it would be. $400 for the night doesn't sound too shabby.

Def. the shuttle bus. We got a limo bus...that was expensive! We had it for 4 hrs. and then pick up at night time.....It will be def. more than $1000 for the entire night. so I would take advantage of the shuttle bus.
