You should reconsider taking lessons. It is very easy to get caught up in wedding planning and put the relationship on the backburner. Taking lessons will be something you and FH can do together every week that is fun, and while wedding related, that is the last thing on your mind while trying to learn how not to look like an idiot!!

My FH's mom is in her retirement, not especially for the wedding, though. We're not... my parents aren't. Actually, my mom has two heel spurs, so she may not be able to dance with the pain, which is upsetting to me and her that she may not be able to dance so much at my wedding! It would really $uck if they're giving us this wedding -and can't even dance at it! Meanwhile, his mom and BF will be on the dancefloor all night long! And my FH doens't dance!

My mom is a dance instructor (still, at the age of 61!, her birthday is today) and I have also taught dance. We danced together and left my DH and dad to the mercy of the bar.
