FH and I have debated this for weeks. And now with the worry about teflon, I thought I'd get your opinion.
Which is cookware do you think is better - Non-Stick or Stainless Steel? Why?
Thanks!

Stainless steel is great!

I bought stainless because I own a dishwasher and you cannot put nonstick into the dishwasher. It works fine for us for most of our cooking and I like it. I do have some nonstick pieces - a 7' omelet pan, an 11' grill pan and a 5 qt sautee pan and I use them a lot too ... so easy to clean up and cook in.

I registered for all non-stick pots. I hear that I made the right decision. I guess I will see when I get it.

We have stainless steel. The first time I cooked was tricky because you have adjust your temperature and stuff - but I love my pots and clean up is super easy. We (and by we I mean me! LOL) soak the pots in warm-hot water then scrub with a nylon scrubbing pad...works great!

Re: Poll - Cookware debate - Non-stick or Not?
we got a really cheap set of non stick pans from my mom. So I am going to re for stainless steel. It doesnt matter how nice the non stick is, it winds up ruined anyway. SO i suggest registering for a low cost non stick and register for a nice stainless steel

Stainless is great, I highly recommend it. You must have a non-stick fry pan for eggs and omelets. Otherwise, you will be scrubbing forever. Non-stick also allows you to cook w/o using too much butter or oil.
I have used both. I would go with non-stick as long as you make sure you take good care of it like using the proper non-stick utensils and wash it with a soft sponge. I also had stainless steel frying pans, Cuisinart brand and they were great too. But I got my Circulon 2 set for my shower and LOVE them.

I use both, but my favorite pans are from Circulon -- the easiest cleanup, IMO

I got mostly stainless steel with one non-stick omlette pan. The only thing I use the non-stick for is making omelettes and quesadillas.

I have a set of non stick that I’ve been using for 5 + years and it is AMAZING! Believe it or not, I ordered it from HSN. It’s called Ultrex and I believe that HSN is the only place you can get it.
When FH and I went to register, I could not believe how much retail stores are charging for a set of pots and pans!! $400, $500, even $600 & $700!!!!!!!
The set that I bought 5 years ago was $150 or less and it’s still in awesome shape. I want a few stainless steel pieces, but I’m not registering for them. I just can’t do it knowing that I can get a high quality 20 piece set somewhere else for under $200!

I love my stainless steel for everything. If you learn the proper temperature control for different foods, you will generally get a better tasting and better looking meal from a weighty stainless steel pan.

I have no idea, but I should ask my mom! LOL She has both sets and prefers one over the other for different reasons.

We use stainless steel .. you can scrub them down real nice with scouring pads. We use cast iron when we want a non-stick...you have season them well and they will be good to you!!!!
