I am bad, as soon as I bought the stuff from my shower home, FH & I started to use some of the stuff.

We haven't used any of our shower gifts yet. But thats not cause were purposely waiting, its cause we havent even had time to go through everything we got.
I didn't even know you were supposed to wait. Is that a rule or something?

i have actually heard that it's ok to do so... and besides, we moved into our new apartment the week after my shower and i wasn't going to use our old stuff!!!

Why would you wait? What's the point in that?
Everything we registered for is stuff that we need and will use. Besides, I don't have room in my apartment to just store a bunch of stuff that I can't use. We opened everything and started using it all right away.

I guess part of our reasoning for waiting is:
1) We already live together and have a lot of these things. Lots of the registry stuff was replacements for stuff that is almost on the fritz.
2) We plan to buy a house right after the wedding, and this way we will have brand new things for our brand new house.

We were planning on it, but have since decided not to. We are planning on buying a house right after we get married and figured it would be nice to open all new stuff in our new home.

we used the Cuisinart coffee maker and some of the steak knives, we figured why wait till November, my shower was in August

Yes, we live together already. We basically went through everything to make sure it was all in tact. I actually have to return a set of dishes, because one of the bowl is broken.
I did get a couple of doubles, so I have to return some items. We did make sure anything electrice actually worked, but haven't fully used them yet.

We aren't living in our apartment until the wedding, so we haven't used anything major, but we have used a kitchen scissor and a glass to have a drink of water when we're over there working on the apartment.

Not yet!! We already live together so we decided that we will put up the new shower curtain, unload all the dishes, and set everything up right before the honeymoon so that when we get home it will all be brand new!!!
