Can't I just send an evite or something? My mother and SIL are telling me I have to have them. I don't want something else to worry about!!

Seems ot me they are a little unnecesary except that then you know everyone has the same..and corret info.

I would say you need them. BUT nothing crazy. Just buy a pack of invites and fill them out by hand or use print shop to print a flyer and then put them in an envelope and send them.

I don't think you have to. It's a nice idea but if you don't have time no one will miss it. Are you hosting it? If your not then you should have whoever is hosting it take care of it. My FMIL is hosting mine and I think it would be nice if she did invites but it's not a big deal if she doesn't and I'm certainly not going to make any.

how many people are you inviting? Couldn't you just give them a call to let them know where and when?
I've never heard of doing this until recently. I think it's 'nice' to send an invitation, but certainly not necessary! Do what you feel comfortable with.
And if your mom and sis want invites sent, tell them they can take care of it! :) One less thing for you to worry about!

I have seen people buy invites from a card store and hand write them. It's not a formal event, I dont think you need formal invites. Or like you said - I think and evite would be fine (as long as everyone check their email!)

If you are inviting alot of people (say over 30) and many are not in your BP or immediate families, then you might want to do them. If you are having alot of OOTers then maybe. But if it's just the standard BP and family, a phone call or evite would suffice just so they have the correct info.

We just did word of mouth.
I have been to 2 others & one I received & invite & the other I didn't. For the one with the invite, I wasn't in the wedding, they invited close friends as well, so there was more need for an invite.
The other one was in a home so no invite was needed.
Ours was small, immediate family, bridal pary & readres were going to be there anyway, and half of those peopel were from out of town, so obviously their spouses would be with them. THe only peopel wer really needed an rsvp fromw as the Reverand & my uncle ( husband of a reader) who works weird hours.
