A 'safe' word is used in roleplaying or B/D/S/M situations. It means 'stop'. I guess you can't use 'stop' because you know people can say 'oh stop!! oh baby!' and not mean it, so this is an entirely unrelated word that means 'stop.' When we were like 17 or something, FH was really nervous about sexual stuff, so he brought up the 'safe' word thing (no, we're not into that stuff!) And we've never used it in a sexual context ever. Sometimes when like, he's really pissing me off and doens't realize that he's relaly hurting me by what he's doing I'll say it, or vice versa... I really don't even remember why we started it. It's just funny though.

Totally not necessary.

We're not into that kind of thing, but when I'm not in the mood, I say 'I love you' a certain way and DH gets the hint
