Poll: Favors ideas (running out of ideas)

I was looking to find a personalized favor/keepsake for my guests but it is rather difficult when you are on a tight budget especially since FH doesn't even want to give any favors to anyone. So far I had only found a couple of favors that my seem a little corny and cheesy (i guess they all are when you think about it), but i wanted something that people will like to either put up in their wall unit or something that they can use. FH and I both agree that we do not want anything edible. He also don't like the idea of a musical CD as a favor. As for the design, I am considering the design in the champagne flute picture, first flute from the left or the last one at the end on the right. Fh's family do not drink alcohol except for champagne/wine on special occasions. So it left me with only a couple options. Let me know what you think:

mugs are nice, and i would use them regularly. id probably toss everything else

I prefer the mugs, I wouldn't use the champagne flutes with the logo on it, but i'd definitely use the mugs...

Maybe your guests are different, but honestly, what am I going to do with flutes or mugs that have someone else's names on them?

this is entirely my opinion...you can, of course, do whatever you want.

sorry but i agree, its not usually what is used either. Alot of ppl do put them on display somewhere though. FH has shot glasses, mugs and other stuff from weddings and he puts it on this dresser he has but doesnt use it.

I like the flute idea, because I am thinking of doing Irish Coffee glasses for my favors. What company are you using? I was looking at www.customizedglasses.com, but I'm trying to find a cheaper vendor.

Also if you get the mug or flut you can put hersey kisses in there. that would be cute. A friend of mine did soemthing like that.

Thanks ladies. The company i may use is www.favorfavor.com. They are relatively cheap. As for using personalized items, i personally don't have a problem in using a mug with a logo/name on it at home. In fact, i think i have about 10 logo cups throughout my cupboard. As for the flute, i think a lot of people will just put up somewhere as a keepsake. But i do like the idea of putting some hershey kisses or something cute inside the flute.

I really do not prefer candles, because i am personally tired of getting candles as a keepsake but this is what FH's mom recommended....plus its cheaper so you never know.

Too close of a race. bump! Also, have anyone experienced any problems with silver/chrome finished keepsakes? Do they tarnish or turn green after awhile? I was a little worried about how they may turn out long term.

i would use the mug but probably not the champagne glasses- i think most people like to use their registered crystal when drinking champagne glasses especially since you are usually celebrating something.

i also love anything edible or donations as favors.

I agree with the girls who said they wouldn't use a mug or glass with someone else's name on it.

I'm having a vineyard wedding, and really wanted to do wine as favors, but I can't afford that... for the good wine anyway..

So I'm just going to do wine glasses as favors with our names and date.

I will probably throw in some kind of food favor too, since my guests have long ride back home after the wedding may need some munchies.

I have a collection of random mugs (and shot glasses ) from different events -- from my college, from my sorority, etc. I would keep a mug and use it as long as it didn't say something embarrassing on it. Plus, it's practical to have just one.

I'm not a fan of the champagne flutes, and what are you going to do with just one flute? I'd use our glassware if I ever wanted to drink champagne.

Pick the one that you like the best..your opinion is what matters most. If you like the candles and they fit into your budget then go for it !! Personally I would use all of the items. I always need a pen, and I would probrobly use a mug more than a flute but heck champagne is good so who knows
