POLL - Garter Toss or Anniversary Dance???

Hey girls. Quick question. FH and I are trying to decide on whether or not to do the Bouquet Toss/Garter throw and the Anniversary Dance. What do you think???

We did the Anniversary Dance. I actually wanted a garter toss, but DH said no if we weren't doing the bouquet toss.
I dont have that many single girlfriends anymore and I didn't want to have them standing up there feeling embarassed.

We're doing the tosses, we still have a lot of single people who will be there so it'll all be good. Besides we already know who've been married the longest, my grandparents will be coming up on 59 years at the time of our wedding.

I love the idea of an Anniversary Dance but we're having a separate reception with our siblings and friends, so only a small percentage are married and probably only 2 couples that are married for more than 5 years.

I guess we're doing the Bouquet Toss (no garter)

Everyone is married except for the little ones so no bouquet or garter toss for this wedding. Still undecided about the Anniversary Dance. I wanted to do it, but am still not 100% sure.

I had originally thought I wanted to the Anniversary dance, but then I decided it might be depressing for my grandmother and other relatives whose husbands/wives had passed away.

I think I may have read somewhere about throwing a bouquet that is actually littlle bunches of flowers. You can wrap ribbons around each with different wishes. Then you can maybe change it to all the women and not just singles so more people can participate? Just a thought.

We still have a bunch of singles - so we did the bo-k toss and garter. Was a lot of fun.

most of my guests who were married are more on the shy side so that option's def out the door. but thankfully we had a good number of singles so my hub and i decided to do the bo-k / garter toss. we did a cute thing... a fun little detail that included more ppl in the bo-k / garter toss game. as i turned around to toss the bo-k i untied it exposing one bo-k into 3. as i tossed it, altho the girls thought it broke, it came as a huge surprise. and tehn scott tossed 3 garter belts. it def made it more fun.

What is the Anniversary dance? I am new to this site and it is great to see new ideas. I don't like the Garter/bouquet toss, also because we dont have many singles coming. So any suggestions for substitutions would be greatly appreciated.

We're not doing either. FH is shy and doesn't want to do the garter in front of everyone and most of our friends are married, so it wouldn't be nice to single out the few that aren't. And the Anniversary Dance, we were doing it, but then decided not to. We want more time for dancing and less time for that kind of stuff.

MIL is a divorced and DH's father is deceased not so it didn't seem appropriate in our situation

we did the traditional taking the garter off. Then I threw my bo-k and he threw the garter to all the men and all the women...not just singles.

The persons who caught the garter/bo-k danced with me and him. Then everyone came up and joined us in the dance. It was great. Everyone thought it was such a good idea and no one was embarassed or felt left out. Or didn't want to participate. The married people jumped on to the floor faster then the 3 singles.

we're the first ones to be married out of our friends so we wanted them to jump around for the bouquet and garter.

its fun seeing who catches what.
