FH is commissioning for the Army right before the wedding (he's in ROTC right now). I was thinking of putting Support Our Troops bracelets (the rubber ones) in organza bags and putting one at each place setting. NOT as the favors, but just as a little extra.
Is it worth it? I'm not sure if people will wear them or thik they're corny.

It'll probably come to around $120 for all of them. Its not bad....but we are on a budget. SO I def dont want to waste the money if no one will wear them.

I think it's a great idea!!
I bet if you included a nice heartfelt saying at the bowl or basket you put them in, everyone at the wedding would wear one. PLUS, you could have your photog take pics of some people wearing them at the tables and it would be great to look back at!!
ETS put the saying with the organza bag..... I read too fast and answered too fast. Too much caffeine, sorry....

I would print out a saying on cardstock, cut it to fit inside the bracelet when you put them in the bag, so people can read it w/o having to open the bag.
I bet lots of people will put them on, even if its for a short while ... might be a cute photo!

Depends on your friends and family honestly. If you think they'll wear them, go for it, but I know a lot of people have strong feelings about not wearing them. You could feel out some relatives or friends first to see what they think - if they like the idea - then go for it!

in the whole scheme of wedding planning and costs, another 150.00 or so wont make or break the bank.,.. Its a nice idea and even if every person wont wear it, many will...or they will give it to their child who will.. the gesture is a good one!

I still say go for it. It's to support our troops, not the administration's decision. If $150 isn't going to break the bank, why not do it?

Thank you ladies! I think I'm gonna do it! I figure (after hearing all your thoughts)...most people will like it, and for those who dont want to wear them, they dont have to. But I think it'll make for some cute photo ops and a lot of people (especially the military guests) will appreciate it.

I say absolutely go for it! I think it would be really nice to keep the troops in mind on your special day... and maybe ask your photog to get a picture of you and all your guests wearing the bracelet to send to the President or overseas to the troops! (hey... you can probably get the Pres. to autograph it... and what a great keepsake THAT would be!). Plus, obviously, a great cause! Does the $$ go towards service men and women's family's who died in the line of duty? Then that would be REALLY great! I think if you did that, you should really proud of the cause you'd be supporting. A lot of people don't think of our men and women in uniform enough each day fighting for our freedom, and if those giving out those bracelets means a lot to you and your FH and would make people think of them, then they will serve your purpose and you should feel proud of yourself for that! I say GO FOR IT!! (and, YES, I would wear it proudly!!!)
