POLL: Have YOU ever been a no-show for a wedding?

Come on...tell the truth!

I was ONCE a no-show. I woke up that morning VERY ill. My now DH went with his mom, but I stayed home. (the mom was invited, she didn't take my place or anything like that)

I had 3 no-shows for my wedding. 10 days before my wedding, one woman called and asked to bring someone that she 'just started dating'. She was very persistent, so we explained that we had already finalized everything...then she asked me to call her if we got any cancellations! Needless to say, I never saw her on my wedding day...UGH!

Another lady was sick. And, DH's uncle decided at the last minute not to bring his girlfriend because all of DH's other aunts got VERY mad that he would dare bring a woman to his dead wife's nephew's wedding...

Re: POLL: Have YOU ever been a no-show for a wedding?

Plain and simple.....NO. I do have a conscience....although I can think of some that I was dragged to. Not my family, though, an ex's family. I can see an emergency, but other than that, not many good excuses.

Re: POLL: Have YOU ever been a no-show for a wedding?

I have NEVER not shown up for the reception... recently though FH and I missed the ceremony for a wedding in Rochester...the truth---> my b-day was the night before and we got in VERY late and neither of us were in a condition to drive at the time we needed to leave. But we were there for the reception, right on time...

Re: POLL: Have YOU ever been a no-show for a wedding?

I was!! Only once and I still feel horrible about it

It was somewhere in NJ. My son was a newborn and I was having a seperation anxiety attack lol by the time my fh got me to leave for the wedding it was already late.. and as fate would have it we got lost and drove around aimlessly for 2 hours before calling it quits and going back home! By that time even if we did find it the wedding was almost over!!!!

Re: POLL: Have YOU ever been a no-show for a wedding?

Nope, never.

I even made it to my second cousin's wedding on the same day as my graduate school Graduation. It was pouring raining and we got caught in so much traffic going from Fordham in the Bronx to my house in Brooklyn to quickly change and rush to Manhasset, LI where we barely made the ceremony and then rushed to Hamilton House. That was one wedding I wish I could have missed!

Re: POLL: Have YOU ever been a no-show for a wedding?

no, but i went to a family wedding & my uncle was a no show. He is a musican & got a last minute job, so he cancelled. I think someone in my family told the parents of the groom, but there was still a place set for him.

I had 1 no show who was sick.

Re: POLL: Have YOU ever been a no-show for a wedding?

I would never do that unless something totally unforseeable came up that would absolutely make me miss the wedding (death of a close family member/friend)

I've never been. (knock on wood)

But I think I have the record of 13 (yep, that's thirteen) no-shows the day of my wedding!

Re: POLL: Have YOU ever been a no-show for a wedding?

I've never done that, but we did have some people who cancelled at the last minute, and two of DH's friends replied they were bringing dates and didn't. When our friends got married last year, someone didn't attend their wedding because 'he forgot.' How rude is that!

Yes once, but I called them that day. MY FIs father was rushed to the hospital that morning, so I wasnt making the wedding. I felt terrible but there was nothing I could do.
