when i was in junior high, my mom and i went to New Hampshire for a cousin's wedding. the hotel seemed cute, but later that night, we realized the walls were paper thin and the couple next door were having a blast! mind you, i was 12 and with my mom. the next day, at the wedding, dr. and mrs loooove were there!

i think i might have misread the question.....
my family on trips to florida have stayed in cruddy cheap hotels... not 4hour ones, just cruddy cheap ones.....after that one time they learned their lesson, still picked cheap hotels but not as cruddy..

Yes, but not on purpose. I'd booked a Days Inn online once, and it was gorgeous- clean, nice continental b'fast. I was going to Philly with a couple teacher friends and my 17 year old cousin from Seattle, so I used the Days Inn site again.
This hotel was the opposite. Run down, graffiti on the bathroom door. My cousin went out for a smoke and this scuzzy security guard started hitting on her. When we got back from being out that evening, we saw this woman, drunk, with her blouse half unbuttoned, demanding'Do you have a room? We really need a room!'. We saw two other women who were wearing sort of slutty outfits, so we wondered if it was a hot-sheet place.
Oh, and the 'continental breakfast' that was supposed to be included consisted of a box of Hostess donuts on a table in the lobby. I can laugh about it now.

I stayed in one in 'downtown Roslyn' LMAO..so not funny but I can laugh now. I had no where to live for a week..one apt kicked me out on the 30th and the other one was not available to the 15th and I wore out my welcome on my friends couch. So I stayed at this crazy place for $100 for the whole week. It was by the clocktower and down the street from the Claremont. Oh boy was that a friggin sh*t whole. I am suprised I did not get lice or something worse. If you all ever tell anyone I will deny it...denile is not just a river in Egypt. Kapesh?? Why am I laughing so hard that I have tears coming down my face???

YIKES!!
Oh and my answer is no - i get skeaved REALLY easily - i dont know what i am going to do in Spain - my friends and I got a great deal on a 5 star hotel - but that is only for the first 3 nights- no clue what we are goign to come across there!

yes we did, once.
my MIL booked us into a motel for a wedding we were all going to. She lives in NC so she had never been to this motel and figured it was just a good rate lol. We get to our room and there are holes punched into the wall, a crappy bedspread, garbage, etc....blech...i slept on top of the bedspread and barely slept at all. It was gross.

Oh well no never stayed at a 'pay per hour' motel. Ick.
But I've stayed at a crappy motel in Chicago. A 'friend' booked it for a bunch of us, and then proceeded to not show up that weekend himself. Stains on the carpet, beds 20 years old...etc. But it didn't ruin our weekend.
