I thought I was all set on this until I listened to my mothers opinion and now it has all come undone. My bridesmaids and I like Alexia 2814 in Ivory with a Petunia (Magenta) sash. I also like Morilee 206, but the bridesmaids do not.
Anyway, my mother says to me, 'Why do you want your bridesmaids wearing white when you will be wearing white and you are the only bride and it is your day?' Hmmm, and it got me thinking. So girls, what do all of you think? Please help me pick the dress and the color. I originally wanted to go with a shade of pink, but I think that the Morilee dress is very pretty in the Pool Blue.
i agree definately not white....you should be the only one in white! what about doing the reverse colors on the white dress??? petunia with a white sash?

this is what i was going to suggest.
there is NO way i would have my BMs in white or ivory. that dress, in white, looks like a wedding gown to be honest!
i also wouldn't want my girls to have to wear a dress they hate. this isn't 1987. happy bridesmaids = smiling in pictures

I agree with this. Yes, it's your wedding but it's their money and their dress that will be collecting dust in their closet. Having said this, I do think you should get final say on the bridesmaid dresses but keep each person's body shape and style in mind as well.
no white...its a wedding gown! I'd pick the blue...I looked at your pics hoping to see what your gown looks like to see what goes but there wasnt any...so I guess I'd pick the blue...I am hoping yours is very poofy though since the bm dresses are. Thats what I did...My gown will be quite 'big' with my slip so I wanted my bp to be poofy as well...lol

I am doing the same thing!! This is because all the dresses I picked someone had a prob with it.....I will look too fat, flat, big busted, pregger etc. It is just easy that way!

i agree with not doing white, but I did know someone who had a snowball theme wedding where everything was white... but anyway I vote for either the second or third, depending on which ever color you like better!

I voted for the white. As long as your dress is somehow fancier, different, or 'more', it will be completely fine. No one is going to forget you're the bride. Really, it just doesn't happen. I swear. All-white weddings didn't used to be so uncommon.
More importantly - It's the dress you and the girls like, so go for it!
Edit to add: Alexia also has Ivory & Champagne. Both of these would give you that clean, light look, and will go with whatever sash you want, but still not be bridal white. They also have Ice blue, which is similar to the tiffany blue of that other dress. (I thought I read somewhere around here that they were having trouble matching things to their tiffany blue scheme - keep that in mind.) I'd still go with the white if it's the look you want though. It is definitely something that people will notice and remember.
