Poll: Help settle our first disagreement as husband and wife!

We are in disagreement over how to fill our new salt and pepper shakers since they aren't clear!

I've always filled the one with more holes with salt since it's what I use more of. DH says the pepper should have more holes since it's lighter and doesn't come out as easily. What do you think?

Actually there is no set way to do it....here is what I found. You are both technically right. HTH

Flavor Camp: Salt goes in the shaker with more holes because people use salt more often, and in greater amounts. This equalizes the need, making one shake roughly the same for either spice.

Flow Camp: Pepper goes in the shaker with more holes because it consists of larger chunks than salt. This equalizes the flow, making one shake roughly the same for either spice.

I always thought pepper has more holes since it doesn't come out as easily.

The concensus here and from my fb friends seems to be salt. However, it's not across the board. Considering, DH only cooks about once a week I'm keeping my salt in the one with more holes! If that means I get extra salty or peppery omelettes on Saturdays I'll have to live with that!

I personally like more pepper over salt, so i'd be the weirdo and say pepper!

In our house the shaker with more holes was always the salt shaker.
