My wedding is on Sunday and I have the option of having my cocktail hour outside. It's suppose to be around 62 degrees and they said they will put out 8 heaters. I'm having around 80 people. Do you think people will be too cold.? I need to let my hall know today and i can't make up my mind.

Re: Poll - HELP with Cocktail hour
umm i think i voted yes, but i meant that i dont think they will be too cold! 62 + heaters i think would be fine! if the sun is shining it will make it even warmer...is there an option to go inside as well or it it just one or the other?

the food and everything will be outside, but i'm pretty sure if guests are cold they can take their plate and go inside (i have to double check)

I would keep it inside and see if they have the option to go outside on their own. Maybe ask them to set up fewer heaters and if people want some fresh air they can go.
Remember not only could guests be cold but their food might get cold too. Yes it will be on heaters but when they walk away it won't stay hot forever.

ITA... plus, it'll be 62, but that's while the sun is up... at 6:30 there will be next to no sun, it'll be chillier.

I think its a bad idea.. food will be cold, guests will be cold.. the heater can only do so much! but its your wedding and your choice! thats just my opinion!

ITA, keep it inside and let the guests choose if they want to go out. 62 is probably the high for the day, and that will have long since passed by 630

Agree with everyone about the food inside and letting them have the option to go outside.

food inside with the option to go out if they want to . if the ch was during the day i'd say go for it and have it outside but at 6:30 it's gonna be getting dark and it will be chillier than the 62 it was earlier in the day. keep in mind it could get reallllly windy like it has been all this week and that would be terrible for the food!

I say YES , I work at resturant part time and we put heaters outside when it was 60 and people spend two hours eating!

I'd personally do it inside. 60 degrees at night can be pretty chilly. You don't want guests to be uncomfortable.

Yeah, but you're probably serving the food from the kitchen... I dunno what kind of stations she's having but I'd be worried about food being cold... I guess if it's chafing dish stuff it might not a big deal. I dunno, I just don't think I would.

I think it depends on RH location, is the outside special? different vibe? was it at all a reason you booked there? is one area bigger/tighter than the other? Either way, the guests will be fine and enjoy themselves and the food and drinks! Do what you feel comfortable with, that's why they make shawls for ladies! Have fun and congrats!!
