Poll: How much $$ do you spend??

How much do you ladies typically spend, even if you are chipping in for a large gift, when buying a present for a bridal shower?

Your answers will help me decide whether or not to add some cheaper gifts to my registry!

I am finalizing my bridal shower registry, and I am freaking out a little, because even though I tried to pick a wide price range, it seems like all my gift choices are expensive, big ticket items. My comforter set is over $200, my luggage, many of my china pieces, and my pot and pan set are all over $200 too. even my sheets are over $80.00! I am starting to feel worried that my guests will feel forced to spend more money than they want to or can afford to just so they get something that they know I really want. I am so paranoid about seeming greedy!

i would think if people are chpping in for a larger gift then they would not buy another gift also

It depends...when I've been in the bridal party, we usually chiped in - like $100 a piece for a big ticket item. If it's just a close friend and I am not in the bridal party, I'd say anywhere from $30 - $50.....

I've found alot of the small appliances from Fortunoff's and Housewares/Barware from C&B fall in that range....

For an average friend/realtive......50-75

For someone I'm really close to...i try to spend more...pick out something I know they REALLY want.

It depends on the person...never less than 50 though

For me it depends on the relationship I have with the guest of honor - I have spent $15 - $250 but average in the $50-100 range.

You should include items in all price ranges or people that do not want to spend a lot will go elsewhere. There are lots of things that are not that expensive - bake ware, storage options, bath accessories, etc.

We had a $7 roasting pan rack on our registry and my friend bought it for us from her daughter.

I'll spend around $50 for someone I know, but I'm not close with. And I'll usually drop another $15-$20 on gifts for the wishing well.

If I'm close with the person, then I'll drop $300 and not think twice about it and I'll buy cheaper items off the registry (or cool & unique kitchen gadgets) for the wishing well.
