depends on the closeness to the bride...
went to a very good friends wedding and bought her one setting for her china and lingerie- it cost over 100.00
but i was invited to a friend of my fh's shower and i didnt go- but i spent about 50.00
for a person i was invited to the shower for but dont really know why cause we dont speak...i didnt go and i still spent 30.00 and i had to ship the gift- so it cost about $40

depends what my relationship is to the bride. no less than $50 though. But usually more.

At my shower I would say that people who were very close to me spent a lot (over $100) but the other guests (friends of my mother etc) spent about $50. Which is fine. They are all planning on coming to the wedding and most of them will give gifts then too.

I put 75-100, but typically more if its a close friend; or less if its someone that I know only casually.

I spend $75-100 but if I know that I'll have to skip the bachelorette party, I'll spend $100-150 (I have no real reason for doing it, except guilt).

Normally it's a $100, depending on how well I know the bride. If I'm really close, I'll go over that, if I don't know her very well (besides questioning why I was invited the shower) I would spend no less than $50.
