Just wondering what the preference is among all. I am having my e-party next year in May and I am debating between having a noccola(hazelnut cake) ice cream cake v. non-ice cream cake. Tell me what you ladies think and why you prefer one over the other. Thanks.

Re: Poll: Ice Cream Cake v. Non- Ice Cream Cake
I like ice cream cake. For an e-party you can get away with this because you can pick up the cake and keep it in your sight so there is no melting..plus it is a change..but I have tasted some awsome non ice cream cakes so I chose non because not everyone likes ice cream cake..

LOVE Ice cream cake! If I could have a wedding cake that was ice cream I would! For an e-party it's nice. Maybe even have both, just in case someone isn't as enthusiastic about it as I am.

Personally, I really don't like ice cream cake. But I know a ton of people really enjoy it. I feel like I can have ice cream anytime. Also if I want ice cream, I don't want vanilla or chocolate. Give me some good flavors like rocky road or cookie dough.

i like ice cream......but if you are having it outside (not sure where your e party is), then the ice cream wont stay long, and people usually keep dessert out for awhile.....Just a thought

I'm having my e-party at the SandCastle. I heard from another member, (also a former employee of SC), on this board that they have huge freezers and that the ice cream cake comes out find for guests.
The Viennessian Hour will have non-ice cream cakes so just in case a guest doesn't really like that ice-cream cake, they always have an option of picking another from the Vienessian Hour. Granted there also will be ice cream during the Viennesian Hour, but not in the form of a cake and it will be completely a different flavor. (noccola..hazelnut)
I love ice cream...such a huge fan..

I love ice cream cake but it makes my teeth hurt so I don't eat it. I think both is great though!

Tell me about it. The guy at the SandCastle told my FI and I that what this basically is- is a mini wedding. If it were up to me, I would do w/o some things (TRUST ME)...but, unfortunately, my entire family are a bunch of Sicilians that are always comparing from one cousin to the next, etc..the list goes on and on. For example, I told my mother that we may do it on a Fri. night...WOW...she went on and on about how people are going to think we're cheap, blah, blah, blah...Yeah ma, that's the whole point...why should I pay more per plate when I'd be getting the exact same thing as I would on a Sat... Then my aunt, tells me how Sat is more conveinent for most people..Yaddy Ya and so on.
My mother was even the one who freaked me out on the idea of an ice-cream cake (that it will turn into soup)...go figure. Wanna hear another one...my FI just the other day mentioned how it would be better to get a limo for me and him and our closest friends who will be drinking. Now he wants to pay for people who don't want to drive because they may drink too much. I told him straight out NO. Then they won't drink or tell them to handle their liquor. I already told him that if anyone (few of his friends, obviously), do, say or act in a unappropriate manner, I will tell them to leave myself. Thanks for listening to me vent..Lol...and this thread is suppose to be about ice-cream v. non-ice-cream cake.
