POLL: Inner envelopes

After months of searching for invitations, I FINALLY fell in love and placed anorder. The following day, my contact called me to tell me that she was mistaken, that my invites don't come with an inner envelope.

I am a big fan of inner envelopes however I love these invitations. I'm so torn on what to do.

Since they are being sold that way that's just the style of the invite so it's fine. They are a little silly to me-I messed up addressing a few of mine- left off 'and family' on a few....it was a mess- I hated it and wish that I left mine blank! Do what you like!

Re: POLL: Inner envelopes

The tradition of inner envelopes dates back centuries to a time before the US Postal Service, when things were delivered by hand. The outer envelope would get dirty and be delievered to the servant at the door. He/she would then carefully remove the outer envelope and place the pristine inner envelope on a tray and deliver it to his/her mistress/master.

Since the postal service is not likely to cake your invite with dust from a cross country horseback ride, I think you're safe.
