I think leaves are a nice touch. I am sure you can purchase these from any specialty store or even cheaper you can collect them once they freshly have fallen from the trees. You can display them by just having a whole basket filled with them and your guests can just take a handfull and throw. Its going to look pretty bec of the colors all combined.

honestly if my church wasnt dumb and let us throw things, i wanted to throw leaves. i think it would look so nice for a fall wedding!!!

well if you throw something that is not 'natural' you are going to have to get somebody to clean it up. . .
leaves are cool though if you can do it! but leaves are kind of dirty. . . you dont want people throwing leaves AND dirt at you
maybe you can ask your florist?
Hmmm....never thought about the fact they might be dirty. Man...I was so excited about the leaves cause it was different.

IF YOUR HAVING A FG YOU COULD ALSO HAVE HER DROP LEAVES INSTEAD OF ROSE PETALS.

make sure they are dry and that you dont collect htem too early they will rot and smell
I like the idea of throwing the leaves since your going with a fall theme... i think its different. But because of what Matilde said, i would go with the silk leaves and assign someone from the family (not riding in a limo) to pick up the leaves.

I was thinking about having the guests throw leaves in lieu of rose petals, bubbles etc. (Fall wedding) Do you think real leaves would be ok or would they fall straight down? I'm spending enough on the wedding...the last thing I need to spend $$ on is fake leaves!![]()

we were going to do that for the Oct wedding we were planning.
Real leaves can cause a bit of a problem though because if you collect them too early they rot, if you wait till the last minute they'll be dirty.
also, leaves on long island never seem to change color the same time of year...
I work in the Halloween industry and last year leaves in Westbury didnt really turn untill around Thanksgiving.
but a few years ago they were all off the trees right after halloween.
If you can get clean, pretty colored leaves I say go for that. It would add a nice personal touch and make some awesome pictures.
How about dried leaves.......

you can press real leaves which will keep them perfect for later use...supposedly its really easy.
my church wont let us throw things either (i dont think) but i figured we'll already be married and we'll clean it up...so can they really get mad?
