POLL: Inviting the Pastor??? FOLLOW UP ...

I don't know if I am supposed to invite the Pastor to the rehearsal and or the wedding.

We are getting married in a Church we don't belong to. We do not attend service there (only occasionally) and we have only met the pastor once. He is a really nice man. Meeting him made us decide that if we buy a house in this town we'll definitely join the church. We both really like him

Anyway I have no idea if we are supposed to invite him and his wife to the rehearsal dinner and or to the wedding reception.

If I do am I supposed to send him the full invitation?

Bump, I know it's a Friday night and the board is slow, I'll probably bump again in the morining too cuz I really need some input on this.

We invited the priest and his wife to the entire reception. However, he is only going to stay for the cocktail hour. We do not have a personal relationship with him.

At my parent's wedding 30 some years ago, the priest and his wife were invited. They sat at the table with my grandparents (mother's parents).

It's a nice gesture to invite them.

ETS: We are not having a rehersal the night before. The rehersal dinner is just a party. We did not invite him to that. (The wedding party is going to reherse right before the ceremony without me. Our wedding is at the hall.)

I agree. At least this way the pastor is not offended for not getting invited to the reception.

So do I mail the wedding invite or should I deliver it personally. Does Pastor get same invite that guests do? ...or just the reception card?

We're doing RD by word of mouth and email I think so I'll probably just send him a note about it?
