Poll: Negotiations

Did you negotiate pricing for your venue or any of your vendors? If so, for what and how much? Any tips?

We are *so* close to booking a venue, but my dad wants to see if he can negotiate the price of some of the upgrade options. I'm just curious as to how often this happens and if so how to go about it.

Just ask for what you want.

We just said we were hoping to guarantee more like x number, and they came down. At my hall we met with the owner so he basically threw so much in.

I would just tell them your requirements 'I want this, this and this, and I can afford to pay $x. Can we work something out?'

i'm no help b/c I didn't really need to negotiate much. I got some freebies thrown in and got my VH pp cut down so after taxes and all the final price per head was still in our price range. So we booked. But hey if you want to negotiate more then go for it. Although April has awesome prices everywhere you go. So it all depends on your budget.

Everything is negotiable. Ask for what you want. The worse they can say is no. Doesn't mean you can't accept their offer

We negotiated our price down (but we have a high min.). We asked for three things: price, free ceremony and then add on stuff ....to see what we'd get! They came down on the price which made FH happy.

We negotiated A LOT lol.

Honestly most places you just ask and they go down a little. Or we would say 'oh, we budgeted X' and they wld budge. OR we offered cash a few times and apparently thats the best incentive to lower the price lol.

For add-ons and upgrades just ASK it really works!

we negotiated our RH....we are paying cash & they are cutting out the tax & they lowered the pp by $10

we negotiated DJ...we said we were offered a lower price somewhere else & we'll use you if you can meet that price

I got my price per person and my minimum guarantee lowered. Honestly ASK FOR EVERYTHING the worst they can say is no. I think they would rather throw things in than lower the price, but just tell them what you want to pay and see if they will meet that or come close
