POLL of the day: What are you giving out for Halloween?

We live in the city and don't get trick or treaters...but we'll still be handing stuff out b/c we'll be volunteering at a women's shelter to provide a halloween to the kids there.

Then, we'll go to a party

Nothing:

A-In my neighborhood why would you open your front door to people at all?
B-Parents of kids in our neighborhood seem to agree and don't want their kids knocking on doors to strangers.

But *IF* a brave soul ventured out onto a nearly commerical street and knocked on the door and weren't frightened by the older Chinese lady who is hunched over.....

I'd give them chocolates.

I have no idea how many kids will trick or treat in our neighborhood since its our first year. DH is ready to go out and buy and truckload of candy . I am trying to hold him off till the last minute. I cant have that stuff around the house.

Halloween is OUR holiday so I go all out.

I already made up my little baggies with two or three candy bars in them and a plastic junk toy (like a bat, skeleton, slimy creature, etc.). I used to LOOOVE getting those baggies when I was a kid, it was like I hit lotto! We also do up the house with scary music and strobe lights/fog machines. Bob used to wear a costume and scare the kids but he's rethinking that this year in case some little (or older person since we have a ton of teens come to our house to get 'scared') falls and hurts themselves. We don't need the liability. But we'll definitely do the lights and stuff. We draw the biggest crowd of kids in the neighborhood. We get such a kick out of it.

We will do chocolate as well. I try to buy ones that I don't like though so I don't sit and eat them
