Poll: Should I get...

Should I give out jordan almonds with the favors? I am italian and I think it is an italian tradition.

It is an Italian tradition. We are both part Italian, but not doing it.
It is kind of old fashioned & we don't like them, & we aren't really keeping with any of the old Italian traditions.

Nah, it's not necessary, plus your favor is pie so you are already giving them a sweet treat. I think your favor is great by itself.

I was going to for the same reason, but decided against it. I wrapped my favors and it would look just look like too much to put the almonds on them. Honestly, I don't think anyone will miss them.

i'm italian, i'm not giving almonds, and i have never seen anyone do anything with the almonds aside from throwing them away.

HE's greek & I am italian and there is no if ands or buts about it, we have to do those in the tulle wrapping.

I'm Italian and most of my guests are as well..so we are giving them out with our favors.
If it were up to me, I wouldn't, but my mom feels that they should be given out.

We're doing them...five is the Italian tradition. They represent Health, Wealth, Happiness, Fertility and Longevity.

I agree...I am half italian and so is FH, but i am not doing it. I really dont like Jordan Almonds...so why spend money on them? I'd rather give something that is more 'me' and 'fh'...by the way, FH doesnt even know what Jordan Almonds are though he has seen them hundreds of times.. He doesnt really hone in on the details that much!

generally people tie them to the favor as shown above. it is an italian tradition. What I've heard is that it symbolizes the bitter and sweet parts of marriage taken together. Instead we mgiht do chocolate covered espresso beans. Still bitter and sweet, but more to our taste and unique!
