Poll: Should I invite my boss and people from work?
I've been at my job for two months. My boss's superior got me the job and I mentioned to her I was getting married. My boss is super nice and has been very kind about making sure I have the time off I need for wedding things. Her secretary does the scheduling and has taken the time to help me work out days off. Also, there are a three new collegues I've bonded with.
The problem is we are way over on our guest list about 50 people and thus over budget. And I've only known these people for two months. Who do you think I should invite?
What do you guys think... should I mail invites to work or hand deliver them?

I mailed all the invites to the people at my job...I just felt more proper doing it... XOXO Kitty

Two months is not a long time. I would definetely invite the person who got you the job, but I don't feel you should be obligated at only two months to invited everyone.

if you are already over your guest list limit then I dont think you should feel obligated to invite anyone. If someone asks you can tell them the truth that you would love to have been able to invite them but that your list was set a long time ago and you just do not have the space. If you want you can let them know when/where the ceremony is if they wanted to be there for that. I think that people will understand.

Unless you are VERY close friends with any of them, I would not invite anyone from work to a small wedding.
I'm having about 140 people and am considering inviting people from work. I'm limiting it to those people with whom I work that I'm friendly with outside of work as well. I don't plan to invite partners or even the lawyers who are much more senior than I am - just my friends.

Just tell them it's a small wedding. You do not have to invite them.

I just saw that you've only been there 2 months. I would not invite anyone from work!
Especially at a small wedding, it will likely be awkward for them.
You definitely don't have to invite any of them.

We invited many people from work, but we've been working and socializing with them for up to 9 years! and we met at work.....
