...get off the pill before TTC? I heard so many different opinions! I am trying to figure something out timewise so your help would be really appreciated!
My OB told me that I could wait before getting pregnant but it is not really necessary. I went off the pill in October and didn't get pregnant on my Honeymoon last month. We are trying this month....wish me luck!!
I think every dr has a different opinion on this. My old dr said one month and my friend said her dr said two months.
My best friend got pregnant when she switched BCP. There was apparently a 2 week window in which she was pretty much unprotected, even though she went right from one to the other, and she wound up pregnant sometime in that 2 week period.
My friend, who is pregnant with twins, was told by her doctor that she is more than likely pregnant with twins because she got pregnant right after she stopped taking the pill. Her Dr. said that since your system is not regulated, your body can release more than one egg which may be fertilized. I heard this from a few different people.
We waited 2 months after I finished my last pill pack because I decided I was not ready to TTC. My dr. said there is no reason to wait 'to get the effects of the pill out of your body'. He only suggested what the pp said about allowing your body time to get regulated on its own. This makes it easier to determine when you will ovulate on your own. It can take a few months after stopping or it may happen the first month.
