POLL - Speaking of cake - what should I do?

We're having a four-tier cake. I would like each tier to be a different flavor.

To prevent guests getting upset that 'so-and-so got a choc piece and I got a vanilla' my banquet manager suggested that we serve the wedding cake at the viennese hour so guests can choose which flavor they'd like.

I kind of want everyone to eat the wedding cake. Should I just get all one flavor so the servers can serve the guests individually?
(i.e. for the elderly or full people that wouldn't go to the viennese)...

I'd serve it at the Viennese if your doing all different flavors.

I voted for have the cake be one flavor, b/c if you're having a VH, then there is already going to be such a selection of different tastes for your guests to chose from...

yeah that's what I would do.

I'm wondering if I should change to one flavor so the guests will get served individually.

well from a person who lovessss sweets i think i might skip the cake anyway and just get stuff at the viennesse hour...so not everyone is going to eat cake

but maybe like you said- just get one flavor so the people who dont get up to go to the VH can atleast have a piece of calke

I've been to a couple of weddings where they served the cake at the vienese, and i gotta say i really didn't like it...it's my own personal taste though

i don't like it because the cake gets 'lost' in the gluttony of vienese hour desserts, and we didn't even realize the wedding cake was being served until we asked a waiter.

Have the cake be one flavor...that way you avoid any problems and I would assume that there will be some chocolate cake servced during viennese anyway.

i think one flavor is totally good for the cake! Your guests will have a plethora of other options at the VH!

I agree. Do two diff things. Wedding cake AND Viennese.
