Same here. I like star wars, even though I'm not a HUGE fan. Brad is majorly into both of them. He's into anything to do with space, for that matter.

With Star Trek..it depends what your talking about. Which generation, which crew... etc...
and maybe the same holds true for Star Wars. they are both great but only certain parts of it

BUT this is not by choice. FH is a HUGH sci-fi fan and I get stuck watching along. (ok deep down i don't mind that much)

If I was forced, kicking and screaming, to choose one - it would be Star Wars ON A WHOLE
But my brother was the biggest Trekkie EVER and by association I probably watched every episode of the original Star Trek series, and I will admit that I actually really love some of those episodes. Yeah they were so cheezy but often there were great storylines - and I had a kiddie crush on Captain Kirk, there I admitted it! (hey William Shatner wasn't THAT bad when he was young )
That said I have never seen a Star Trek movie nor ANY of the newer generation shows - and if I never saw a Star Wars movie again I would die happy

Doug is the same way, he likes star trek more than star wars (but our first date was star wars, so that's special) and he watches stargate and atlantis or whatever and stuff like that. I could NEVER watch any of that. I'm not into sci fi at all per se, but I like star wars a lot and douglas adams, but I don't like it b/c it's sci fi/fantasy, I like it b/c it's damn funny. FH is big into fantasy, terry prachett and whomever

DH and I BOTH are the big dorks. We both love both (only the old Star Wars movies, however, the new ones blow). I was a sci/fi fantasy geek before DH, and we've been together 11 years. I read probably a fantasy or sci-fi book every 2 weeks, and I have a subscription to The Magazine of Science Fiction and Fantasy. I am more into fantasy and speculative fiction than sci-fi, but only slightly. We also like Broadway Musicals.
