Hey girls! I don't usually post here, but I was hoping you could help me plan our Tahiti honeymoon!!
We are trying desperately to stay between $6k & $7k (not including spending $) with airfare from JFK. We want to do an OWB at least on BB and I would LOVE to stay at the sheraton on Moorea. What islands and hotels did you stay at or are going to stay at on your honeymoon? And if you don't mine, what was your appx cost?

You can do it - just have to be judicious in your decision-making. We're doing 3 nights in Moorea at the Shearton (o/w bungalow), 4 nights in Bora Bora at Hotel Bora Bora (o/w bungalow) and 5 nights in Rangiroa (beach bungalow) and are spending over $11K with just flights and accommodations. If you cut off a day or two, choose a little less expensive hotel for Bora Bora (maybe the InterContinental or Sofitel Motu - which I heard were great) and do a beach bungalow instead of an overwater bungalow at the hotel in Bora Bora you may be able to swing it. FWIW - I heard that the snorkeling at the Sheraton in Moorea is the best in Tahiti - so you may want to do the o/w bungalow at the Sheraton and opt for a beach bungalow or something similar in Bora Bora. A travel agent would probably do you good right about now.

I think 6k maybe hard 7k more of a possibility, We did our 8 night trip for about 8k. We stayed at the Beachcomber intercontinental which was gorgous for the first half, beachside bungalow and then went onto the Bora Bora Lagoon resort-overwater bungalow which was breath taking. No meal plan. It was a absolutely worth the 8k and we had an amazing honeymoon.

i just got back from tahiti the other day, we did 5 nights in the tahiti le meredien and 4 nights in an over the water bungalow in bora bora. Our package cost just under 5K without airfare to tahiti but included interisland flights. we used in and out travel agency, a vendor on here. if you need any advise let me know!
beware, food costs $$$ there!

yep, if we had known, we probably owuld have gone to moorea for 2 days and tahiti for only 3 but we did a lot of stuff in tahiti so it worked out good. we took the ferry to moorea and rented scooters for a day which was a blast!
oh, and we stayed at Le Meredien on both islands.

I think it will be hard to go to Tahiti for that price...we are close to $9K and we went through Costco travel...cheapest I could find with OW bungalows and all...

We are staying at the Sheraton tahiti, Sheraton Moorea and Bora Bora Nui. I think you can plan a trip there within your budget. There are tons of packages out there. get ready fro some major research! Luckily I work for Starwood, so I am getting an awesome deal.

We are going to Bora Bora for a week and Le Ta'haa for a week. It's a lot more then what you want to spend but you can try to contact Dawn at Cruise One (she does all travel not just cruises). We booked through her and she is really helpful. She's a vendor on here as well.

yes, it can be done...
we are staying at le meridien on tahiti & bora bora (OWB on bora bora)
intercontinental on moorea. 9 days/8 nights total.
we got it for $7500. this includes airfare to/from nyc to papeete, inter-island airfare and rooms. it doesn't include food or excursions.
